Realized that after 20 years of dating I should be much, much, much smarter than I am! Ugh. I hate learning thing the hard way.
Came up with my theme song for the week (remember how each character use to have their own theme songs on Ally McBeal?). I don't know if anyone else does this but there will be a song in my head that I just keep singing over and over (usually just one lyric or refrain) and all of a sudden I become aware of what I am singing and realize that it totally sums up whatever emotion I am going through at that time. [I know I have said this before but it fascinates me that my subconscious is smarter than I am!] Anyhoo, this is what I have been singing all week "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera...
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
The really ironic part is, I didn't even know I knew this song!
Ok, moving on and totally switching gears (as they say on the TODAY show)...
Attended a benefit for SOS, an organization that I am involved with, which aides breast cancer patients on a local level with all the unforseen costs that are not covered by insurance like child care, gas money to get to chemo, prosthetic bras, etc. The party was in downtown Charleston at the Wickliffe House. Check it out...
That is me and my hot date sandwiched in the middle of my two good friends.
Great night!
Watched this guy do the unthinkable...
You know he was like "F you ABC!" Just awful.
P.S. If you watch this show and don't read this the next day, then you are missing out!
Convinced two of my clients (who are Gamecocks) to do some orange in their home...I'm not gonna lie, it took a while.
Finalized the color for these tables my talented carpenter is building...(sorry for the horrid pic!)
Picked up these bad boys for my office...
I know, it is not centered and yes, it is killing me!!!
Remember what they looked like before? In all their authentic 1960's glory. My upholsterer told me he liked them better before. Awesome. Or maybe I should say Groovy?
Every time I go to this one client of mine, I see these turtles hanging out on the drainage pipe. And I do mean every time. Usually there are 5 or 6 of them all lined up in a row in order, by size. I wonder if they talk about it or it just works out that way. Wednesday was 70 and sunny here in Charleston and these lil' guys were SO enjoying the sunshine...look at their necks all stretched out. So cute! They give me the biggest smile...what a simple life.
I am headed to Richmond, VA...anyone have any good shopping spots there or along the way on 95? Please let me know!
Have a great weekend y'all!!!
