    This Week at Eclectic...

Saw some progress on a client's gender neutral nursery...drapes come next week. And don't worry, we have a "male" light fixture, just in case!

Speaking of the word drapes...have I mentioned how much I hate the word "curtians"? I really, really do. Kinda like I hate the word couch but I can tolerate couch. I can't tolerate curtains. I have a client that keeps calling them curtains and I keep saying "Please don't call them that." He just laughs but he needs to know that I am serious.

Also saw some progress on a client's guest bedroom in their second home on Sullivan's Island...

I should have fluffed before Instagramming!

So I learned Twitter this week! My poor friend had to teach me what it was all about. I honestly thought it would be a fad so I never bothered to learn it. And quite frankly, I still think it is very middle school but I get how it can be a valuable business tool so you will be seeing LOTS of tweets from me/Eclectic from here on out. I have officially run and jumped onto the bandwagon as it was speeding away from me.

If you aren't already, I invite you to follow me on any of the below social media...

As addicted as I am to Pinterest, I still love me some ol' fashion Inspiration Boards. Here is the one I have in my office @ Eclectic...

I cut down sheetrock and nailed it directly into the existing sheetrock and then spray mounted some leftover grasscloth I had from another project so the Inspiration Board would go wall to wall. It is much larger than this image shows. I have to give credit for the sheetrock idea to my talented friend Brett Elrod of C.B. Elrod Construction...it was pretty darn smart and inexpensive!

Speaking of the talented Brett Elrod, he got married last weekend. Here are my friend and I at his wedding reception at The Hibernian...good times.

And here is how my seashell display turned out for my clients. Remember my post from yesterday?

What do you think??? Be honest. But maybe not brutally honest.

Eclectic has been nominated for best interior design blog again this year and if chosen, I win a cash prize (yippie), so please take a second to vote for me here! Many thanks!!!

    Have a great weekend y'all!

    This Week I...

[Ok, technically some of this is from last week...I am still playing catch up!]

Went to the book signing for Design Sponge at Dwelling downtown.

Can't wait to sit down and go through this book!

Then went to an event celebrating the one year anniversary for the Charleston Artist Collective. My friend Allison Williamson started this on-line gallery showcasing local artists offering affordable art. Each moth there is a different theme and a portion of the sales go to support a different local charity each month as well.

    Photo from Scout

Tested some floor stains at a client's new home. We chose the one on the far right (Dark Chestnut)!

Went to The Red Party at the Old Jail in Downtown Charleston. The theme was vintage circus so we were flapper-esque. This event is put on by the American College of the Building Arts and is hands-down one of my favorite events of the year!

I took some pics off of their FB page.

This is me, far right, and my buds. The feathered hats were cool except I think I got knocked in the face about a zillion times by Mason's! And it was hard to eat my fancy hot dogs and fries with those feather cuffs.

Dropped two carloads of stuff off at the ReFurnish sale at Harborside East. I also went to the Preview Party and bought myself a few things! Y'all should stop by! Th-Sat 10-7

Follow Eclectic on Facebook! I am going to start highlighting an item from my booth every week. This week's item is a handmade wooden star. I think it could work inside or outside. Put it on a wall as art or on your mantel surrounded by garland and pinecones for a rustic look. Or add those old school large globe lights to it and hang it outside.

    Handmade Wood Star
    $65
    Measures approx 42"w x 42"h

    Bully!

    Have a great weekend!

  • This Week at Eclectic...

    This Week at Eclectic...

I spent less than 24 hours in Beaufort/Bluffton with my parents on a random buying trip. Ranom might be the understatement of the century. I obliged my father in the self-proclaimed "World's Largest Yard Sale" in Hilton Head. My gut told me it would be terrible but I had hopes that I might find some random bamboo or rattan pieces that could be salvaged. Well my gut was right...it was beyond terrible. I have zero patience when it comes to mobs of people with no concern for the people around them so I almost bought a golf club and beat the sh*t out of someone. And I am generally a really nice person (honest). My poor dad had hopes of finding a Civil War relic. I think he's seen one too many episodes of American Pickers. So we tried to salvage the day by spending a couple hours in Bluffton which is one of my favorite, sleepy coastal towns which also boasts my favorite church, The Church of the Cross, as I've spoke about before. We ate at The Cottage and continued to have quite possibly the worst dining experience of my life. I swear people, I am not a complainer! I think it was just not in the cards for us that day! We were sat pretty much in the kitchen. I had to hand dishes to the busboys as I ate my meal. lol But I think if you sat on the porch it would be lovely. I recommend going for brunch and if you have a sweet tooth def get a dessert!

I love this shot, I look like a paparazzi. Those are my parents walking out! lol

I did manage to score a few good things while on my trip!

Saw the 6-8' gator that lives by my parents house. I still love my dad's quote when my nephew Finn asked him if he knew how to out run a gator and my dad said "No, but I know I can out run Grandma." Nice. Wonder where I get my sarcasm from? The answer, according to Finn, is zig-zag's...you run in zig-zags because they cannot. I hope I never have to try.

And I got back to Sullivan's Island in time to drink some green beer with 300 of my closest friends...

We also listened to the Ryan Bonner Band at High Thyme...they are adorable and so much fun! If I were 10 years younger I'd be a groupie.

We installed a custom map art piece/wallpaper I had made of the Charleston area for a client of mine. Since she was still fairly new to the area, she wanted to have a map of Charleston so she could see how all of the islands related to each other and find her way around town better. But since we had just spent a lot of time/money renovating her kitchen/living space, I forbade her (kidding) to hang an ugly map on her wall! So together we came up with a solution we both could live with. I joke as she is the one who lives there but I, in good conscious, could not live with the fact that we had created a beautiful space and then I left her with an ugly map hanging on her wall. Soooo here is what we (along with the combined efforts of A&E Printing and Sign A' Rama) came up with...

The light switch will be covered.

It is so unique and stunning! Much better in person that it translates in this photo.

I got the stomach bug for the third time. Ugh. Really I just wanted to get it in one more time before spring so I could acheive my goal weight! haha But during my two days of being home sick and in between being er, indisposed, I was able to watch Season 3 of Dowton Abbey. So I am getting caught up with what the rest of the world has been hip to but until I am, please don't ruin any more important details for me via Facebook!!!
    I. Beg. Of. You.

It is so so so good!

But being sick, I missed ALL of the Charleston Fashion Week festivities and after-parties. Boo-hoo. Oh well, I guess I will have to wait until next year :(

    Have a great weekend y'all!

    This Week I...

Am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel...

No not that kind of light.

"Step into the light Carol Ann!"

That movie still terrifies me. I watched it with my brother when I was eight. Yes, eight. WAY too young! I was terrified but didn't want him to know so I acted like I could handle it. For the next two weeks, I slept on the floor next to my dad's side of the bed. Oh, I should mention that I had a huge tree right outside my bedroom window that I was certain was going to pull me through it and suck me into the Underworld. Eeek.

Worked on an e-decorating client's house...

Working on a design client's house...this isn't final and there is lots to come on this house but I got caught up on her daughter's bathroom. What can I say, I'm a girl.

Went to see The Eli Young Band. They played on a boat. Not sure if you can even see them in this photo. This is how old (dumb? lame? out of it?) I am...I thought we would be among like 30 people there. We were among like 300 people! And I am pretty sure there was a fraternity party going on. At least that is what it felt like. I'm not gonna lie...I enjoyed the eye candy (cough: cougar) but not the line for the bathroom. While in line, I noticed I had on (basically) the same outfit as the twenty-four year old in front of me. I am not sure if that should make me feel proud or embarrassed?

This week's featured item in my booth over at Southern Accents is this adorable coral lamp!

    $125
lacquered white base and mint green coral lamp/finial with white shade

Don't forget to like Eclectic on Facebook so you can see my daily updates!

Look at the happy couple gazing into each other's eyes...

    Islands in the stream
    That is what we are
    No one in between
    How can we be wrong?
Sail away with me to another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ah

(Have I ever mentioned that that is my favorite song of all time? No joke. Stop laughing.)

    Have a good weekend!

Hope the Dawgs beat Auburn! Woof Woof!

  • This Week I...

    This Week I...

Took a couple "mental health" days to do this...

I needed to recharge the ol' batteries as they say. They are still charging but should be at a full charge by Monday (I hope).

I finally broke down and joined Pinterest! Four hours later I uncrossed my eyes and went to bed. I am slowly adding stuff and ironically started with fashion and hair perhaps because I needed a little break from design (see: recharging the ol' batteries). Follow me if you want to!

    Went to see this...

It's dang funny, especially for a sequel. But heck, I could watch Zack Galifianaki for two hours doing nothing and laugh my head off. I could also watch Bradley Cooper for two hours but I would be doing more than laughing.

Went to see Sarah Jarosz at the Cistern for Spoleto. If you are unfamiliar, get familiar.
    She is beyond amazing!

Here are some things you have missed if you aren't following my online shop, Eclectic Finds!

Next week is "Book Week" over at Eclectic Finds where I am selling some of my favorite fashion, design and coffee table books to add to your collection.

    Have a great weekend Yo!

  • Coastal Living Showhouse

    Coastal Living Showhouse

Have you seen the Coastal Living Showhouse on Daniel Island yet? It just opened to the public last week and my friend interior designer Ginger Brewton did a great job! I know she worked her tail off and it showed! Set right on the Wando River, this house is beautiful on the inside and out.

    via

The kitchen was one of my favorite rooms in the house. I especially love island/built-in dining table with the marble countertops!

    via
I love how light and clean this room is! And these poufs...OMG...these poufs! Dying.

I thought this was a brilliant use of space for storage under the stairs!

The backyard has a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the Wando River. If only I could have this view from my back porch!

Throughout the house was artwork by the very talented local artist, Cindy DeAntonio.

This month, Cindy DeAntonio, will be having her debut art show at Eclectic! I am so excited to see her fantastic collection of work!

    Hope to see you there!

    This Week I...

Cannot tell you the utter joy in stumbling upon a new shipment of Carrara Marble! There were rows and rows of it. Makes my job easy when you need three matching slabs! Not so easy when you have to go to several distributors to find slabs that coordinate and they have nothing in stock. Fellow designers, I'm sure you can relate...its the little things. My client was happy, I'm happy.

    Did you see this?

OMG. Jamar was so humbled and Jamie was so gracious, I was bawling my eyes out...I felt like such a fool.

Well, not that big of a fool.

Sometimes life scares me how fast it moves. I met with a former client this week whom I helped 10, yes 10 years ago! She was one of the first client's I helped as I started my own design business while working at a local retail shop. Her and her husband have inherited the husband's family home and they are renovating it and wanted some design input. 10 years! Oh my. I still knew all the colors we picked, by name, for her second home here. 10. Years. Ago.

Here is yet another example of how time flies...

This is my oldest nephew, Finn.

At least that is how I want to imagine him.

Here is what he really looks like...

    When did this happen???

I brought new inventory to my booth over at Southern Accents yesterday...

And while I was there, I marked down almost everything in my booth! Go check it out...

More progress on this...will tell you more about it soon!

    Eeeek!

    Have a great weekend!

  • This Week @ Eclectic

    This Week @ Eclectic

Delivered the world's longest bench to a client...took 6 men to carry it.
    Not really.

I had it reupholstered a Duralee fabric.

I rearranged the entire showroom at Eclectic...

    Including the front window...

So I watch The Bachelor. I have watched for all 10+ seasons and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I think it is hilarious and I love analyzing all the different women (or men). However, Tiarra (or whatever the heck her name is) is an all time low for ABC.

    She went from this...

They were doing a Polar Bear Plunge

    To this...

    Faking hypothermia.

    Milking attention.

Oh and last week she was doing this...

    Seriously?

Do you watch? If so, do you read this? If not, you totally should.

    Moving on to real life...

This gentleman found me online who saw that I had once had an Edisto Farms Dairy Cooler for sale on my old online site Objects and asked if I happen to have any more. He said his grandfather once owned Edisto Farms and his dad use to work there and he thought it would make a great birthday present. Lucky for him, I have a penchant for collecting local history and just happened to have another one!

I bought my first Ann Keane painting! I have been coveting her work forever and just couldn't resist any longer...

    Happy Valentine's Day To Me!
    Thank you Charleston Artist Collective

Last weekend I went to that Superbowl Party and did a horrible job taking photos...I have none of actual people's faces and these don't even do justice to what my dear friend Lauren Heuber of Muster Branch did with the decor of the event. So I'm firing myself...Trump style.

    Have a great weekend y'all!

  • This Week I...

    This Week I...

Am getting so excited to see all the pretty bits come together at a client's home. That tile you see will be on the entire wall behind those cabinets and it will be STUNNING! (I feel like you have to sing the word STUNNING as if you were on Glee.)

Do you like the little paint chip ring I made for my client so she can keep all her paint colors handy? I'm the best designer ever. You should totally hire me.

Check out the tile we put in the same client's master bath...it is GORGEOUS!!! I told her I would feel like every time I showered I would discover a new favorite. They look like aerial shots of landscapes to me. This iPhone pic does not do it justice. LOVE.

I have made a new friend, David Frasier, at Reclaimed Design Works. They have the most beautiful showroom at 132 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston. I am getting some old barn wood, 28' beams and some reclaimed mantles for a clients home. They are beyond AMAZING!

Oh, I'm also doing an "art piece" above the fireplace in another room with these wood tiles.

Y'all should definitely go check out their showroom, you will be blown away! Tell David I sent you in there.

So this weekend is the Cooper River Bridge Run. If you are curious if I am running it the answer is no. a) I don't run. b) I walk to bridge at least three times a week but I don't enjoy doing it with 40,000 other people.

But it is a fun weekend in Charleston so you might see me somewhere afterwards drinking a Bloody Mary!

Then I get to go see my three favorite boys in the world...

If you can believe it, they've actually never been to see me in Charleston so while they are staying at Grandma and Granddad's, they are going to come spend some time with Aunt Sidney in Charleston. I couldn't be more excited!!!

    Have a great weekend y'all!

  • This Week I...

    This Week I...

Have been playing MAJOR catch up from being sick. Crazy the amount of work that piles up when you work for yourself!

Delivered some furniture to Sea Palms...

It's not finished folks so I'll show you better pics later on. And no those pillows aren't deflated, I just forgot the inserts at my warehouse!

Cried when each contestant was picked on The Voice. I know I keep saying this but I seriously might have to stop watching this show(even though my bf Blake is on it)...watching people see their dreams realized...especially while their families are there cheering them on ABSOLUTELY kills me! Total sobbing mess.

My brother and one of my best guy friends from college (who now works for him) came into town for work and we went to dinner at Amen Street downtown and they have the coolest oyster shell lights. See for yourself...

    My crappy iPhone photo

Here is a much better photo from their website.

Worked on an E-Decorating client's Master Bedroom...

Here is a lil' hint of something big I've been working on...

    More to come...

    This Week I...

Stopped by to check the progress of a client's house I helped with some selections on...

    Hall Closet turned Foyer Nook...

Attended SOS benefit at The Lighthouse. It was a smashing success! And lots of fun.

(For those of you that don't know me, I'm the one in desperate need of some powder on the far right.)

Can't remember if I posted this or not but here is what I put together for a client's house...

If you are interested in my e-decorating services, email sidney@eclectic-idg.com for more information.

Am trying really hard not to throw myself off the Cooper Bridge. Still don't have the CO (certificate of occupancy) for the shop. Going on week three meaning each week I am suppose to get it and each week I don't due to delays by another sub. Also going on month six of working off my coffee table. Starting to loose it like Johnny did in The Shining. I managed to sneak a few things inside anyway so I'll taunt you with some images of what's to come...

If only you could see into my head! Or into the future. It won't be too much longer. But try not to ask me when the shop is opening or else I might go Johnny on your ass ;) Kidding (kinda). I have no idea is the answer because right now things are out of my control but my generic answer "this summer", although I am hoping for late June.

    Happy Weekend'ing Everyone!

Went on a girl's trip to Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach (if you haven't heard the Sunny Ledfurd song please go do so now!). We stayed at a friend's house (see below). And to the reader who said mean things to me last time I "teased" about Myrtle Beach...CHILL. OUT. There are beautiful parts in every town...

And there are terrible cheesy parts in every town...

    Just accept it.
You can go to my home town of Marietta, Georgia and prove the very same point!

    Me and my roomies.
Sixteen women in one house...aye, aye, aye!

Big thanks to Danika over at Gorgeous Shiny Things for featuring my nightstands in her segment, THE SCORE, where she showcases people's fabulous finds!

Checked in on my friend/client who just moved back in after having his concrete floors stained. I think they look amazing!

It was Fabric Week over at Eclectic Finds! Lots of remnants for sale so go check them out! If you mention the phrase "I'M A FABRIC HOARDER" you get 10% off!

    Grrr, a lil' alone time...

I hope all you local folks are coming out to our annual Memorial Day event!

Made my Christmas list since so many of you have been asking (lol).

Sent out my Eclectic Christmas cards.

By local etsy artist. I found her at the Lowcountry Artist Market at the Music Farm.
You can find her here or here.

    Worked this many hours...

    Slept this many hours...

Partook in a lil' of this to deal with the above...

Got this much Christmas shopping done...

Decked the halls for a client...

    Just kidding! I would NEVER!!!

But this is me covered in garland (and sap).

Remember the scene when Clark and his wife are in bed and his hands are covered in sap and he is reading a magazine and tries to turn out the lamp...that is what I felt like for the next 24 hours. Note to self: next time bring gloves. But apparently my client's four year old came home and said "Wow, was Sidney here?" Love that he noticed! And that's what makes it ALLLL worth it!

    TGIF!

  • Decorganizing: My Office

    Decorganizing: My Office

Some of you asked and some of you didn't ask for this but I am going to give you a run down on how I organize my office. Feel free to mock me for being hyper-organized.

In each drawer, I keep an active client tray filled with all the notes and selections that I need for each project. This way, when I am working on that particular project, I can pull it out and I have everything I need at my fingertips! Conversely, when I am not working on it, I can put it away in the drawer. Keeps both my office and my mind clutter free!

I also keep an accordion file for each client so I can organize my notes by room. I can grab the file and take it with me to showrooms or client meetings if I need to!

Since my printer sits on the console, I keep copy paper, ink cartridges, Eclectic stationary, business cards, etc. in that center section so they are close at hand when I need them. I use those acrylic trays to organize all the boring paperwork like client invoices, vendor invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc.

I keep all my fabric memos organized in these canvas bins by type of fabric: graphic prints, prints, stripes, organic prints, animal prints, etc. I absolutely abhor fabric books so I mainly get memos from vendors or if need be, I tear apart the books so I can organize fabrics by category. This is how my mind works when working on a project...if I know I need a graphic print in a certain color, I know right where to look! I can pull out that bin and start weeding through them until I find what I need.

The "thing" on the far left is an old sewer grate that I use to hold all the fabric swatches of either fabric remnants I have or fabric swatches that I have picked up from a fabric store (fabric on the front and all info I need on the back). The galvanized wall rack holds all the e-decorating projects that I am working on.

The woven green boxes hold office supplies and the baskets hold solid fabrics separated by type of material like silk, linen, velvet, etc.

I think it is important to use attractive storage containers because if it looks good, you are more likely to keep it clean! Hence my emphasis on decor + organizing = "Decorganizing"! I found this old bottle crate from Hawaii and thought it would be perfect for holding all my pens, pencils, scissors and drafting tools, etc. The blue quadrefoil jar holds all my measuring tapes.

The aqua notebooks (below left) are all of my idea files. And the green magazine files (above left) hold every issue of Domino ever produced. I like to keep them close to me!

Hope I am not boring y'all to tears this week with all this office talk but for those in the biz or even design school, I thought it might be interesting to see how someone else organizes all the (bleep) that comes along with our occupation!

Leased a booth at Southern Accents Designer Showcase Market!
    630 Colemand Boulevard
    Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464
    (843) 856-9131

Like many designers, I have always dreamed of having a store/design studio (and someday I will!) but for now this will suffice. I am excited to get all my goods out of my overcrowded office and merchandised into the booth. First, I need to paint! The yellow is too much. So here is a before pic of the space...

I will show you the after as soon as its ready!

Also, I am starting a Summer Promotion on my e-Decorating services. Are you ready for it? No, really are you sitting down? For the months of June, July and August you can get TWO rooms for the price of ONE on my e-decorating services! You heard me. TWO rooms for the price of ONE! Now's the time to take the plunge! What's e-Decorating you ask? Well, let me tell you...

E-decorating is an alternative service to hiring a designer to do face-to-face, turn-key interior design. Eclectic provides a Customized Design Plan for a room (or rooms) in your home for you
to implement yourself. This service is perfect for those clients who want to work with Eclectic but cannot due to geographical challenges. E-decorating is also great for clients that only want to
work on one or two rooms, clients who are on a limited budget or clients that like to do a lot of
the work themselves but need help with an overall vision.

Email me today sidney@eclectic-idg.com for more information. Here is a sample of a recent e-Decorating plan...

I must have been craving Neapolitan ice cream.

Did something that I use to do ALL the time when I first moved here and lived downtown and now I'm sad to say I NEVER do it...I got up early and went walking downtown for both exercise and to take photos. I forget how much I love to do that!!! And it is so easy and right there for me to do all the time. [Sigh.] I love to watch all the various tradesmen at work...painters, ironsmiths, plasterers, etc. Here are some pics I took (granted with my iPhone...didn't want to look like-God forbid, a tourist!-with my big ol' Nikon D60!)...

Went out to Folly Beach to meet a new client. It is like going to a whole different town! Which is kinda refreshing...but makes me wish I knew how to surf.

Went to a Spoletto concert at The Cistern to hear Ketch & Critter.

    Are you familiar? If not...enjoy!

Want to thank CountryLiving.com for asking Eclectic to participate in their "50 Things To Do This Summer in 50 States" article. They have a tip for every state...check it out...lots of great info!

Bought some vintage Frye boots with my birthday money. I'm sure you are thinking "Boots, this time of year? That girl is crazy!" Or am I??? Best time to buy boots because no one else is!

I bought the coolest piece of technology. Not sure if y'all have heard of it yet but you should totally get one. I'm way ahead of the curve...

    iPad

Rediscovered this song while my iPod was on Shuffle...

    Edwin McCain Alive
    (Live Version with Warren Hayes)

Also giving a lil' nod to New Orleans during Mardi Gras!

Took some Instagrams of the shop...for those of you that don't follow me I'll share.

Have y'all heard that Instagram parady to the Nickelback song? I can't take an Instagram without singing it. It is freaking hilarious.

This is one of my besties Mason and I in the photobooth at the SOS Black & White party on Saturday night. We co-chaired the event last year and this year we got to enjoy ourselves...perhaps a little too much!

Big game this weekend! I'm going to my friend's annual Superbowl party...they go all out and get a huge tent in their yard with a movie screen and bleachers with VIP seating. Jack's Cosmic Dog is there along with the peanut guy from the USC games and they serve bevos from the competing teams regions. My great friend Lauren Heuber of Munster Branch Vintage rentals/events is helping to plan it and has some great ideas in store! I'll try to remember to take some photos to share with you because she is super talented.

I don't give a dang about pro-football but I promised a certain someone that I'd root for SF so go 9'ers!

    Have a great weekend y'all!

    This Week I...

Added more stuff into my booth over at Southern Accents. Don't forget to stop by! If you walk in the door I'm along the right side, towards the back. Look for "eclectic" written on the chalkboard sign on top of the white bookcases.

Added the most killer lamps to a master bedroom. Sometimes the littlest things make the biggest difference!

Remember these guys? They tend to scatter when I pull up and take a photo so I have to be stealth. They make me so happy.

    Remember these old corbels?

Well now they are part of a new console table! There still needs to be lots of "accessorizing" but I couldn't wait to show you...

Dropped some new pillows off at a clients. You really can't see them in this photo but the view is much more imporatant anyway...

Took on another bath reno project. This is the "before"...it won't look anything like this after.

Got sick. Of course, I just can't seem to catch a break or get ahead. So I convinced my doctor to call in a ZPak. Why can't they make those over the counter already?

Happy 8th birthday to this special little man! I am beyond bummed that I am not there to celebrate in person but I will make it up to you as soon as possible with an outting for just the two of us. I am so blessed to have such a sweet, caring and loving nephew like you in my life and I cannot wait to get one of your big hugs! I love you very much G! xoxo

    Happy fall y'all!
    Go Dawgs!

I delivered this bad boy to a client. It will be topped with a local artist's work and some killer accessories. Bam. You just wait.

These guys are going to live in the same room...

I'm working on a mystery sex nursery and we are doing stripes on the ceiling (thicker than these) in Benjamin Moore's Boothbay Grey and Forget Me Not. The ceiling is pitched on either side so I think it is gonna be amazing!

Also doing the same client's daughter's room and that color scheme looks a lil' something like this...

I'm so in love with it!!!

So I was joking with my seamstress about all the local characters we have here in Mt. Pleasant (for you non-locals it is the 'burb just over the bridge from Charleston) as you do in any town really. One I mentioned that she was not familiar with was Willie Nelson. He is always walking near where I work and live. I spotted him about an hour after our conversation and was trying to get a photo. I'll have to do better next time...

Anyone know who I'm referring to? He's a dead ringer.

This Saturday is the annual SOS Black & White Event. If you haven't bought your ticket go do it now! Going to be a blast as always! I'm taking Ryan Reynolds.

Big thanks to Carter at The Scout Guide Charleston for featuring Eclectic on their blog today!

This is me being self-conscious during the posed photo.

    Have a great weekend y'all!

    This Week I...

Finally debuted my new online shop, Eclectic Finds! If you haven't taken a peek, please doso! I will showcase a new item each weekday so keep checking back or better yet, subscribe to the blog and you will be notified each time I post a new item.

Finalized all my forms, systems, etc. for my e-decorating services. I will be giving you all that info next week! But for now, here is a sneak peek of one that I am working on...

Got to go tour The American College of the Building Arts in their campus that is in the old jail of downtown Charleston. Your's truly will be speaking at their event on March 19. I will have more on that next week!

Played 6 Degrees of Separation with some of my design idols...funny how small this world can be! It came to my attention that I have a 2nd Degree connection (meaning my friend is friends/relatives) with Ruthie Sommers, Palmer Weiss, Amanda Nisbet, Angie Hranowsky and Kelly Wearstler(l to r). Look at me name dropping...maybe their design talents will rub off on me by my 2nd Degree association.

    Have a great weekend!!!
